Zoute Grand Prix Car Week

With RNR being the official technical partner of the Zoute Grand Prix car week, we went all-in in order to help Marc Coucke and his passionate team make this edition an exceptionally good one.
Since we were responsible for the technical support for all contestants of all three rally’s, we had to be able to support no less than 375 cars during this five day-event. For this, we have assembled a team of 12 of our own technicians, divided over 6 mobile service cars and an extra towing truck provided by Takeldienst Vanquathem on stand-by. With our workshop manager Jan on 24/7 duty in the dispatch-room, the stage was set for a busy and interesting car week.
No less than 134 interventions were performed and over 99% of interventions have led to a car being able to continue the rally.
Even better, the average response time (time between the drivers’ telephone call and the arrival of the service team) was only 14 minutes, beating even our own most positive estimates!
Needless to say that we are very proud of the professionalism, dedication and passion of our team, thanks guys!
There of course is no competition without… competing, so we had a great DeTomaso Pantera GT5S in the Iconic-rally, a beautiful Mercedes-Benz Pagode with the ultra rare ZF 5-speed gearbox in the Grand prix itself AND our in-house restored 1969 Ferrari 365GTS in the freshly revived concours d’elegance.
Thijs and Anthony have manned the cars during the rallies and, helped by their super accurate Blunik tripmaster and some good fortune, their skillful driving has led them to win not one but both rallies! An incredible feat, especially since the competition has proven to be fierce from beginning to end. Happy times!

As you know: there’s no cake without icing and this years’ icing came in the form of the class-win of our Ferrari 365GTS during the Zoute Concours D’elegance!
To say that finishing this incredibly rare (1 of only 20 ex.) car was a race against the clock would be quite an understatement: David and Doran have finished this car just a few couple of hours before it was shown on the lawn at Zoute!
In a class that was bulking with quality, taking the win was more than just that to us: it was a testament of the quality that our team can produce. Another sign of teamwork that makes the dream work!
